Join the Boat
So you want to join?
How it works… - We have broken the entire trip into legs, and have detailed these on the map below (dates are approximate depending on weather). We can subdivide these further based on individual crew requirements (dependant on availability of land and airports…). These legs are only intended to act as a framework for our trip and to give a high level view of where we expect to be when.
For each leg, we need between 4-6 people to effectively sail the boat (and no we don’t drop anchor overnight in the middle of the ocean…it is a little bit deep…;-) ). So if you are adventurous, looking to do something different and a little bit nuts drop us a line at info@thelongsailunder.com

Hope this finds you guys well! I am a very novice sailor but more than willing to learn all I can. I have hitchiked down from the US beginning Nov 08´and have hit a little road block in Southern Panama. I am staying on a cargo boat that is docked in Portabelo, Panama in between San Blas and Colon. The boat is supposed to leave for Columbia sometime in March and I am to work for transport but I don´t have 100% confidence this will happen.
To make a long story short, I am short of funds but hardworking, honest, humble and energetic. I can stay awake at any hours of the night or day, have over 10 years cooking experience and there is no job that is too small or too large. My original plan was to hit SA and then on to visit a friend in The Blue Mountains of Australia but I would gladly bypass SA for a lift to AU.
Please consider me for your journey from Panama to Sydney as I would love an opportunity to learn as much as I can while contributing to the work needed to make this journey. I hope to hear from you in the near future and safe travels! Please contact me at travelingtexan@hushmail.com and I will send this identical email to the info@thelongsailunder.com address. Thanks for the consideration.
Sincerely,
David Prichard

Hi!
I’ve been on a boat for 24 years. We just sail from Vancouver B.C. to Mexico. I have to leave the boat because of separation, but I don’t want to quit my dream of sailing around the world. Let me know if you still need crew,
